Where do you start when an executive asks you to lay off a percentage of your employees? One place is in the Knowledge Network where a Layoff Checklist is located. This tool gives managers ideas about what to do before pulling the trigger, such as, developing a detailed plan for handling the workload after the layoffs have occurred and arranging to cancel access privileges immediately after terminating anyone.
