Indiana's University Information Policy Office has uploaded its Appropriate Use of Information Technology Resources Policy to the Knowledge Network. Students, teachers and alumni take advantage of IU's IT resources on a regular basis. To protect these assets, IU has created a policy office to create and uphold strong policies regarding technology and other university areas. The university and its constituents expect that information technology resources at IU will be used in a lawful manner. This policy applies to all users of IU IT resources regardless of affiliation, and irrespective of whether those resources are accessed from on-campus or off-campus locations.
More Indiana University information technology policies are making their way to the Knowledge Network, so stay tuned. Looking at these policies is a great way for other universities, organizations and businesses to see what proper IT policies look like. You can then take the policy templates and tailor them for your own use.
