Indiana University Spells Out Policy on Misuse of IT Assets

Another IT policy document from Indiana's University Information Policy Office has been added to the Knowledge Network. You can check out its policy on misuse and abuse of information technology resources.

The policy says it requires that all its assets be used in a lawful manner and according to its stated mission of research and creative activity, teaching and learning, and civic engagement. It will take legal action if its assets are misused or abused. So that means that even if you have a bad day, you can't resort to this.

The university previously posted its policy on appropriate use of information technology resources.

To get a second perspective, take a look at Abilene Christian University's policy, also found in the Knowledge Network. The policy addresses the specific responsibilities for students, employees and information professionals.
