The State of the Microsoft Desktop

Customers are taking a piecemeal approach to Windows 7 and Office 2010 upgrades.

Our contributors continue to add helpful resources that can make you a more productive user of Microsoft's Office 2010 suite of applications.

The creators of the "For Dummies" series have uploaded an excerpt from "Microsoft Office 2010 Web Apps for Dummies" that focuses on using the Word Web app, which, along with the mobile version, is a new feature for Word 2010.

The excerpt, "Up and Running with Word Web App" (Chapter 9), makes for a great companion to CustomGuide'sMicrosoft Word 2010 Reference Guide, which provides at-a-glance information about interface changes, keyboard shortcuts and common tasks. Included in the excerpt are procedures for quickly creating documents, a table that lists the differences between the Web App and Word 2010, a "guided tour" of the app interface and instructions on how to switch between Reading and Editing View.

Be sure to check out these references to help you gain mastery of other new Office 2010 features and capabilities:
