A New Era in Mobility

Increased need to support mobile computing is driving investment in wireless networks.

Conventional wisdom says that most companies don't quite know how to approach mobile computing. They know it's gotten very important very quickly and have taken some tentative steps to create a mobile presence, but they don't have a fully realized strategy for how to make the most of it. Mobile life is just beginning for most businesses.

As cited by ReadWriteBiz, Forrester Research report "How Mature is Your Mobile Strategy?" confirms this collective hunch. According to companies surveyed in the report, 45 percent of them are just starting to form a mobile strategy, while 12 percent have yet to begin. Companies point to mobility's indirect connection to generating revenue and the highly complex nature of mobile tech as barriers to adoption. The glut of devices and operating systems that run them muddies the decision-making waters considerably, and the inherent expense of mobile development has been prohibitive in these lean economic times.

Here in the Knowledge Network, our contributors have provided resources to help you gain an understanding of mobile computing in terms of the underlying technology and what it can do for your business. Don't let mobile opportunities pass you by.

Hi John, I am a bit confused with the context of the "Knowledge Network" in this article. What I see there is the example of hypertext resources according to the definition found in MIAWiki: Network vs Hypertext MIAWiki is the only knowledge network I know by the date: Would you comment on that please? Cheers, Dmitry Reply
