Business Intelligence a Boost for Best-In-Class SMBs

An Aberdeen Group research report looking at how best-in-class SMBs use business intelligence says there are differences between those companies deemed best in class and those considered BI laggards. The study found that 68 percent of the best companies seldom use spreadsheets as a BI tool, while only 22 percent of laggards said so. The best companies offer BI tools widely across the organization in a "self-service, non-IT-assisted capacity."
