B2B E-Commerce Looks More Like B2C Everyday

Technology trends such as personalization and SEO are increasingly part of the B2B e-commerce mix.

If you read The New York Times' article "The Dirty Little Secrets of Search," then you learned an abject lesson in how search engine optimization should not be done. If you haven't read it, I highly recommend it. It takes a look at how companies (or companies hired by other companies) employ shady, "black hat" techniques to boost their page ranks in Google searches. While these techniques aren't technically illegal, they are considered cheating in the SEO world, and they can result in Google damning a site's page rank to the bottom of the pile of search results.

If you want to develop an SEO strategy that avoids underhanded tactics and won't attract the ire of Google, check out our excerpt from "Search Engine Optimization for Dummies." This excerpt shows you how to plan your strategy and covers:

  • Building pages that offer visibility
  • Making your site rank high with the most important search engines
  • Avoiding things that search engines don't like (and tricks that might actually get your site penalized)
  • Using Google universal search, image search optimization, XML sitemaps and more
  • Choosing the right keywords
  • Tracking and measuring your result

Use these tips and recommendations from the Dummies series to make sure you are wearing the white hat when approaching SEO.

White Hat SEO is other term of Manual Submission. If you have the resources for your website which will create and build links, you have to submit all those resources with unique and relevant content details and articles. That's the order of search engine, so that it will crawl easily. I personally follow Ryan Deiss' tips and do on page SEO and simply high quality link building. of your niche of course. then you will be just tension free that you will not be affected by any kind of Google updates
