Five Tips for a Well-Done Tech Resume

A tech pro's resume has to match the speed of this fast-changing industry

Last week I wrote about the craziness in Silicon Valley hiring of software developers, including the site Limo.com, which does "speed hiring," including interviews and an offer in one day. The New York Times wrote about companies offering perks such as haircuts, sweeping views, the ability to bring your dog to work and even training in entrepreneurship.

It looks like the craziness is spreading to Seattle. Last week the Cheezburger Network, which has a slew of comedy sites, set out to woo developers away from Amazon by offering free cheeseburgers to workers leaving the office. The cheeseburgers were from Dick's, an iconic Seattle drive-in (though you can't get a burger there without mayonnaise!).

Meanwhile, social game site Giant Thinkwell tried to one-up the Cheezburger folks by offering free lolcats instead, reports GeekWire. (I seriously worried about the safety of the cats.)

There's no word on whether the Cheezburger folks set up any interviews, but the Giant Thinkwell folks didn't. It's seriously tough for startups to compete with the big guys for talent.
