I'm so pleased to be launching this blog about IT careers. Jobs. Boy, that's what it all comes down to these days, isn't it, especially in these uncertain economic times. But this blog will not just be about jobs, but the career path-your career path.
While the other blogs on IT Business Edge focus on helping you meet your organization's goals, this one will focus on your personal goals. What do you want out of your career? How do you get there?
I'll be posting about job trends, who's hiring, the hot skills and planning your own career trajectory. I plan to write not only for just-out-of-college applicants, but also for those grooming their skills for the CEO job. If you're a middle manager, what's next for you? Lets forge a plan to get you to the next level.
First you should know that I am a journalist, not a techie or IT recruiter. My skill is in finding the experts who can best address the issues and questions that come up. And I hope we can have some dialogue here. I encourage you readers to chime in with tales of your own experiences and insights you've gained along the way. I want to hear your questions, too. What career issues are on your mind?
