Our Reminder that Malware Threat Is a Constant Occurrence

Kachina Shaw

Earlier today, this blog contained a post about an e-mail purporting to be from Intuit. That e-mail was part of a phishing scam, and the post contained a link to a site hosting malicious software. As soon as we became aware of the error, we removed the post from our site. I want to thank Rachel Euretig and her colleagues at Intuit for their gracious assistance in clarifying our error as soon as possible. For more information about this e-mail, you can read this explanation at the Intuit site, which states that "We will never send you an email with a 'software update' or 'software download' attachment."

We apologize for the error, and are reminded once again that the threat from malware is non-stop, and vigilance is key.
