Yankee Group Rates Application Connectivity

Posted by Arthur Cole Jan 7, 2008 10:35:55 AM

The Yankee Group is offering a handy guide for those of you looking to foster greater access to applications and data across multiple wired and wireless networking environments.

The group's latest research report includes a scorecard that rates applications for compatibility with the "Anywhere Applications" guideline, which seeks a device- and location-agnostic approach to foster greater connectivity to networks, users and other devices. Applications ranging from CRM and ERP to sales-force automation and project management are ranked from Anywhere (highest connectivity) to Nowhere (lowest connectivity).

While no one has yet scored as a fully complaint Anywhere application, top scorers included Salesforce.com and Microsoft Exchange Server, while Microsoft Dynamics for CRM was rated Nowhere.

The Yankee Group claims that adoption of Anywhere Applications will enable enterprises to deliver 24/7 access to organizational data within the next two years.
