Juniper Gains Network Management Support

Arthur Cole

Juniper Networks may be new to the enterprise market, but it's quickly learning that you can't make inroads based on technology alone. You need partners.

That's apparently why the company is looking to extend interoperability of the EX-series Ethernet switch to leading network management platforms. The company recently cut deals with a slew of vendors, including EMC, HP, IBM, InfoVista and SolarWinds.

The goal is to not only speed up integration into existing network platforms, but to enhance operational efficiency and speed up the deployment of applications and services across the network.

Specifically, the company anticipates that full interoperability will be available this fall for AlterPoint's NetworkAuthority 6.5, CA's eHealth Network Performance Manager, EMC's Smarts 7.03, HP's Network Node Manager 7.5 and Network Automation 7.2, IBM's Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus 7.1, InfoVista's VistaInsight for Networks 3.0 and SolarWinds' Orion 9.0.

Network Automation System is losing it's edge. 7.0 has had a number of quality issues and they have been releasing patch after patch, with each patch adding to the mess. Reply
