HP Bundles Xen on ProLiant, BladeSystem

Arthur Cole

The bundling deals for leading virtualization stacks keep coming. The latest is an agreement for HP to include Citrix' XenServer Enterprise Edition on the ProLiant and BladeSystem lines, according to ComputerWeekly.com.

Now that virtualization is becoming a fact of life in most data centers, future deployments are likely to coincide with normal hardware refresh cycles. And as we mentioned earlier this week, with Microsoft, Oracle and other entrenched software providers coming out with their own hypervisors, competition is about to heat up.

The XenServer system offers a number of tools for HP users, including live migration and open APIs for third-party add-ons. It also supports 32- and 64-bit environments.
