D-Link Joins BitTorrent Program

Arthur Cole

A powerful new technology combination should provide enterprises with a more effective means of sharing large data files between remote offices and work-at-home employees.

Network Solutions provider D-Link is now a member of BitTorrent's Device Partners licensing and certification program, a move that brings new benefits to existing customers of both firms.

Under the program, embedded version of the BitTorrent Software Development Kit will be available for the D-Link DNS-323 storage system, turning the device into a media hub for BitTorrent-enabled content. In addition, the D-Link Xtreme N DIR-655 802.11n router has been certified for high-speed networking.

Aside from simple file sharing, the arrangement provides D-Link customers with a more efficient means to access and control NAS devices via the Web.
