Wal-Mart won't restock the Everex gPC on store shelves, according to an Associated Press story in the Seattle-Post Intelligencer.
The discount retailer began selling the $200 Linux-based PC back in November, and around the holidays, it was selling fast. The initial interest must have waned, however, because Wal-Mart spokesperson Melissa O'Brien says the company will no longer sell them in the store.
"This really wasn't what our customers were looking for," she told the Associated Press.
But that doesn't mean all hope is gone for Everex. Walmart.com will continue to offer the low-cost, Linux-based PCs. According to an Everex brand manager, online sales are "significantly more effective" than in-store sales.
