Ubuntu 8.04, Hardy Heron, is on its way, according to a newsvine.com post. And though the stable version won't be ready until April, the beta release is now available on the Ubuntu Web site. Improvements on the previous release, Ubuntu 7.10 (or Gutsy Gibbon), include new versions of Xorg, the Linux kernel, and Firefox, as well as a new GNOME desktop environment. Pulse Audio is enabled by default in Ubuntu 8.04, and the Brasero CD/DVD burner is also installed by default.
The Ubuntu Web site also includes a list of known bugs in Hardy Heron, as well as instructions for reporting bugs or contributing to Ubuntu.
