Lora Bentley

The rocket that takes astronauts back to the moon will run on open source software, according to Popular Mechanics. Boeing won the contract to build the software. The story says "the specifications will be open source and non-proprietary" to encourage competition on other contracts in the Ares I design series.

Of the project, Boeing VP Brewster Shaw says, "We all have a lot of hard work ahead of us."
