Protect Yourself Against Data Breaches

Lora Bentley

Last month, Florida's attorney general warned the state's citizens to monitor their credit reports if they stayed at a Wyndham hotel or resort in the last year. The warning followed the company's acknowledgement of a data breach in which the debit or credit card information of as many as 21,000 people was compromised.

Software vendor Configuresoft says this breach highlights a continuing PCI compliance problem. In an effort to help retailers like Wyndham detect and correct problems with their PCI compliance systems, the company is offering a free, downloadable compliance checker.

It's at least worth investigating.
