Open Source Think Tank: What About Commercial Open Source?

If you didn't participate in the Olliance Group's Open Source Think Tank 2007, which took place in March, you can download a PDF version of the conference's executive summary to get the highlights.


As pointed out in, perhaps most interesting are the group's goals for the future. Among them: develop an OSI-approved license that better meets the needs of commercial open source companies, and establish an industry body specifically to address the concerns shared by commercial open source companies.


The story cites think tank participants for the proposition that current industry bodies like the Linux Foundation do not adequately meet the needs of such companies.
