A new IT study from the Radicati Group, "Corporate IT Survey - Messaging and Collaboration, 2007-2008," reveals that security and compliance are front of mind for those deploying messaging and collaboration software.

More specifically, according to the Market Wire press release:

  • 42 percent of respondents reported an increase in spam between 2005 and 2006 -- despite the plethora of anti-spam solutions;
  • 68 percent of large businesses responding said compliance is their top concern for this year; and
  • 80 percent of very large businesses responding indicated that compliance tops their priority lists for this year.

Finally, the survey found that respondents were also focused on reducing downtime.
