Lord & Benoit to Host Webinar on Sarbox Issues for SMBs

Lora Bentley

If you have a small to medium-sized business that is publicly traded or may soon be publicly traded, you probably want to check out Lord & Benoit's free Webinar Friday, Sept. 26.

Sarbanes-Oxley consultant Bob Benoit will review the results of his most recent research, in which he looked at Sarbox compliance results for first-year filers whose market capitalization is less than $75 million. He wanted to find out if the many compliance delays given to SMBs actually made a difference in their results. And apparently, for most of the companies reviewed in the study, they did not.

According to Market Watch, the Webinar will cover such topics as:

  • issues with competency, training, the tone at the top and ethics.
  • the impact of GAAP departures, ineffective design of controls and reliance on outside auditors for material auditor adjustments.
  • the impact of information technology.

It will begin at 1 p.m. ET and run for approximately one hour. Click through for registration information.
