London Lengthens Its Lead

Lora Bentley

The Independent ran a story on Monday about several Russian ventures that are in the preparatory stages of listing on the London Stock Exchange rather than running to Wall Street as they may have in the past (read: pre-Enron, pre-Sarbox).

Officials at the LSE and its minor markets are revelling in the fact that London is outpacing the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq 50 to 15 in terms of foreign listings.

So the "fire hydrant-sized leak" continues, and U.S. companies aren't the only ones defecting. But for those who haven't yet given up on Wall Street (for whatever reason), consulting firms and training groups are lining up to help them figure out how to make Sarbox compliance work.
