Middleware Takes off into the Cloud

All the hullabaloo surrounding the Microsoft and Oracle Linux support announcements hasn't stopped Red Hat from going full steam ahead with its product plans. Red Hat's JBoss division launched a release candidate of JBoss ESB 4.0 today.

According to a press release at Business Wire, the offering completes the JBoss Enterprise Middleware Suite and gives enterprises a full set of SOA "building blocks" with which they can create and integrate applications and services at lower infrastructure costs.

Red Hat, however, is not alone in the open source ESB space, thanks to newcomer MuleSource. The company, headed by Dave Rosenberg, launched its product earlier this fall.
