Open source business intelligence software vendor Jaspersoft has raised $12.5 million in a fifth round of venture funding, according to The Register. Lead by private equity firm Adams Street Partners, the investor list also includes leading Linux distributor Red Hat.

Of Red Hat's investment, Jaspersoft VP Nick Halsey said, "We're extremely pleased with our Red Hat partnership, and we want to be the best product to integrate with all of the leading open source solutions, and Red Hat clearly holds that position."

The Register says Jaspersoft will use the money "to pay for software development, expand its sales operation globally, and extend its partner network," of which Red Hat is already a significant part.
