Thanks to Wired blogger Betsy Schiffman for a bit of levity that's perfect for a Friday afternoon. Her Epicenter post, Live from Venture Summit West: It's the I Hate SarbOx Show, is a collage of anti-Sarbanes-Oxley comments from various participants in the VC conference put on by AlwaysOn. From the sound of it, the event, which was designed as a forum in which entreprenuers could "show off their goods," turned into an all-out Sarbox vent fest.
I agree with Schiffman on the best one:
And one of the best lines came from Gurbaksh Chahal, chief executive of Blue Lithium, who said, of selling his company to Yahoo: "SarbOx? Not my problem."
So if year's end has you pulling out your hair and silently (or not-so-silently) cursing the five-year-old corporate reform law, rest assured: You are most certainly not alone.
