The Center for Audit Quality reportedly has a new face. Mary Moore Hamrick, formerly with the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board, has joined the CAQ as director of external relations and strategic planning.

Before coming to the CAQ, Hamrick was director of the PCAOB's Office of External Relations, where she managed the PCAOB's "government relations and public affairs functions," according to an announcement. CAQ Executive Director Cindy Fornelli calls Hamrick "a savvy and strategic public policy expert." Further, Fornelli says:

[Hamrick's] wealth of experience, combined with a unique understanding of the public company auditing profession, will benefit us in countless ways as we work to serve investors and other capital market participants.
