In the current economic environment, companies' travel and budgets are still slim. This spring, IT Business Edge's Susan Hall did some research on trade show attendance, finding that even the largest shows were taking a hit.
On Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 28-29, Compliance Week is offering an alternative to the typical conference/trade show for those whose travel and budgets are still restricted. It's an e-conference, complete with virtual vendor booths.
The agenda includes sessions on eXtensible Business Reporting Language, factors for successfully managing IT risk and compliance, governance risk and compliance market forecasts, among other things. Ryan McConnell, Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Texas; David Blaszkowsky, director of the SEC's Office of Interactive Disclosure; and Steven Dreyer, a managing director at Standard & Poor's, are among those scheduled to speak.
All sessions are free, according to Compliance Week, and CPE credit is available.
