Another Open Source Translator from Microsoft

Microsoft is doing all it can to ensure that its Open XML standard, which is reportedly due up for approval by the ISO later this year, is ubiquitous, according to The company is working with China's Beihang University to develop a translator between Open XML and China's new Unified Office Format, or UOF.


Once complete, the translator will be available as an open source plug-in from, the story says. A preview will be available this summer, but final versions are not due until next year.
